Steiner’s New Military-grade Binoculars – the 10×42 R Tactical

Steiner dropped by to say hello to us at NRA 09 and brought by their newest pair of military-grade binoculars - the 10x42 R Tactical. They've made them more durable, but the range-finding reticle it features is totally brill. And since Steiner is the largest manufacturer of military and law enforcement binoculars, you know you're getting the best. They also brought over a couple of hunting models that use different technologies to make the game pop-out from the background.

Question by Philip W: What is "a German-made retrograde lardium"?
Ok, curiosity is killing me. Somebody is giving this away on craigslist and I have no idea what it is. Here is everything he put on his listing.

" I have a German made retrograde lardium that i no longer use. Made by Steiner. I hope it goes to someone who can appreciate quality. Come with top grain leather case to protect it. If you don't know what this item is odds are you have no use for it. "

What is it!? I believe it is mispelled because google gives me almost nothing except the Latin word for pig butter.
But he says he has "a" lardium not "some" lardium, so I don't think it is pig butter.

is it some type of optics? because Steiner makes high quaility binoculars (i'm sure with leather cases)... but i have no idea.

Help me Yahoo Answers! ( i'm sorry i'm not sure i categorized this correctly)
It either has to do with the following types of companies with the name Steiner...
~lawn tractors, mowers and equipment
~binoculars or optics
~spa products
~industrial protective clothing & welding supplies
~electrical supplies

or it may have nothing to do with any of these things...

can somebody help?

  1. When optics geeks turn gay on each other…

Seriously, I own some Steiner 10×50s and for the money you can’t beat them. If you want a Zeiss or Leica, you need to sell a kidney. Even Swarovski are outrageously priced (but they’re awesome glasses).

Price-to-product ration: Steiner is the clear winner. They make a superb product and you don’t have to mortgage the house to get some.
