Essentially this is exactly what we do when we focus to look at things at different distances. Cameras and binoculars don't actually do it quite as well as our eyes but the lenses are set up so they magnify and thus the zooms show detail of distant objects in the way your eyes dont'.

It wasn’t a feature that God chose to include.

We do. However, it is not as drastic as using a pair of binoculars. Humans just didn’t develop that way. We like to focus on things that are close up, likely because we are social creatures, and being able to see faces up close is very important to that.

To have zoom lens feature for human eyes would require several lenses with some being able to move position with respect with the others. This would be a pretty complex system. Given the frequency of vision problems encountered with eyes that have only one lens, I don’t think it would work very well.

Your eye is way more powerful then the lens in your camera! it is really good at collection massive amounts of data. when you squint you change the shape of your eye and that helps “zoom” but its not like the same mechanics in your camera. Contact lenses help to make your eye see “normal” without glasses if you want to have contacts for life go here: https://www.1800contacts.com/FreeContactsForLife/1364660 one winner a day.
