Question by Fred A: do I own the worlds strongest binoculars?
carl zeiss nr 11359 110x750 15x 30x 50x eyepieces
any idea what they may be worth?
I can send photo's to anyone interested in these binoculars. email me at :
oldjack18@gmail.com
these binocs are about 33 inches long and tripod mounted.
I was told they were used by the German's in ww1 to read signal flags at great distances.
since I know nothing about binoculars, maybe I'm not stating it right. On the rear of the big tubes where the rotating eyepieces mount, on the left it says
"carl zeiss jena" on the right it says
"df 110x750 nr 11359"
ok, I don't understand the numbers with regards to the dia. but these are about 6" in dia. and 33 inches long without the tube extensions pulled out.

110x750 binoculars would have objectives 750mm in diameter: nearly 30 inches! I have never heard of binoculars that large...the largest I have ever seen are 25x150, with 6-inch objectives. In fact, there are only a handful of refractor telescopes in the world that large. Zeiss optics are the finest in the world, and consequently very expensive. If these binoculars are as you say they are, they would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. I think you are pulling our legs.
