Pentax Papilio Binoculars
The Pentax Papilio binoculars work just like traditional binoculars, but also let you focus down to 18 inches. They are perfect for viewing wildlife, insects, sports, or anywhere you would use binoculars.

The Nikon is a little heavier, but it has a wider field of view. I would favor the Nikon. I don't think you will notice the difference between a 10 and a 12, except the 12 will be heavier. I would stick with the 10 x 50. Looks like a good choice.

I have a pair of these in both available powers and they are fantastic, like having a low power stereo microscope in your pocket. Start enjoying the micro world around you. Also great for reading super fine print, examining circuit boards, coins….. you get the idea.
