How do binoculars work?
Question by REN: How do binoculars work?
I'm in grade 10 and we have a science project for the optics unit. I have to do a presentation on binoculars and how they work. It would be nice to have some feedback.

The wikipedia link is quite helpful.
Some important points are that the image is 3-dimensional, because the binoculars basically work like the human eye, with separate images on each side that provide the sense of depth.
Also, the prisms are not really necessarily needed (check out the cutaway picture), but they make the total length much shorter, so the binoculars are smaller and easier to handle and store.
